“Agios Stefanos” Foundation is a company and a representative organized structure:
The Institution is a closed Care Unit, with a high level of support, in which adult people with mental disability are accommodated for living and support, with the aim of ensuring their stay in the community and the continuation of the relationships of these individuals with the activities of the local community.
The Day Center is a place of education and entertainment and a space where it creates artful, useful and practical everyday activities for people with disabilities. It provides a comprehensive response to the needs of people with mental disabilities, while at the same time producing scientific and connecting work through the realization of artistic, cultural, sports and other events together with other institutions and social organizations operating in the region, with the aim of developing alliances for astigmatism and combating social exclusion.
Four Social Integration Residences, in the city of Limassol, where 20 people reside, fully equipped with 24-hour care and independent supported living. The operation of the residence is open to the community and resembles a family environment. Residents are offered a warm and friendly environment, where each person has their own personal space which feels like home. This promotes social interaction and the development of new skills, thus avoiding the marginalization of people with mental disabilities.(ΑμεΑ)
Another program of Agios Stefanos Foundation is the “Supported employment” which under the umbrella of ‘Social Integration Department’ it employees 26 people with mental disabilities. It offers employment to people with intellectual disabilities; a social activity and a human right for all citizens. Program officers are responsible for finding suitable work for individuals, working with employers, and supporting individuals in their workplace for as long as necessary, until they become as independent and productive as possible.
